Fading is first seen when Storm is watching his Pack. He is being fed little scraps of meat by Thoughtful and another female wolf.
He is next seen when he is dying. Storm goes up to him, and he remarks how the Great Wolf sent him a Longpaw Fang when he was dying. He talks to Storm.
He is next seen dead, and Storm remarks that he died just before the Sun-Dog rose. She is chased away by others from Fading's Pack, accused of intruding on Fading's journey to the Great Wolf.
