"Let's face it. I don't care how important you think your Roleplay is. I don't care how successful it is, how deep it's story has become, and how much you all care about your characters. Life. Comes. First. And I'm not just talking about other people getting upset at you because you can't find the time to get on like you used to. No. I'm ALSO talking about you yourself. There have been times when I've been caught up in an RP which has resulted in me ignoring about things that I should be doing in my life. Like eat... and sleep... and drink fluids..."
My friend sent this to me. It's a big slap in the face honestly.
Yikes, that kind of hits close to home. I get wary about leaving sometimes because I'm worried someone might get upset or annoyed because they can't continue the story without my characters, and I get anxious that important things will happen while I'm gone and I'll get confused. Which is why I do keep up with the stories, even when I don't feel up to roleplaying.
Well, I'm just going to apologize if I ever stressed you out, as you've probably figured out I'm quite impatient. As someone who has been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder, I know exactly how you feel. I often get stressed because I see messages while I'm gone, and it feels like a missed opportunity. I get worried that the roleplaying thread has been abandoned if people don't respond every 3-4 days (which is no ones fault but my own), and I definitely don't like to leave right in the middle of things, which is why I usually don't. But I can reassure you that neither me nor storm would move the plot along too far while you're gone, because you do control many essential characters. Not much to help your anxiety but as you can tell I'm not good with words.
At the beginning of the roleplay, Martha suggested a prize for any dog who is able to find out what happened to Bruno (this prize being the honor of eating first from then, which was early spring, until the beginning of winter.) There was a terrible Storm that separated many of the Pack and forced them to find a new camp. Bruno was one of the dogs lost in the storm, and by then he had been missing for very long. Martha finds a coyote in the territory and holds him prisoner (I like to believe he was Snarl) in hopes of gaining answers of where Bruno was, and the coyote reveals that he'd been held prisoner in their camp since the storm. Then foxes and coyotes storm the camp while everyone is distracted. Martha and Snap take off to the foxes camp to save Bruno. The fox and coyote Alphas agree that there can be a trade- Bruno is exchange for both Snap and Martha (since they're better hunters and they were the ones who happened to be there.) Martha and Snap agree, Snap being very reluctant, and the trade takes place. Fast forward a day, Martha connects with a fox cub called Cub Spark or Fox Spark (idk which one we decided on.) Moon decides to seek how help from the wolves (the same Wolf Pack rp wolves) and they agree in exchange for all their prey from the previous night, that being two deer. The wolves aren't too thrilled about helping dogs but they plan on making their territory somewhere in the area and don't want to live near foxes anyway. Snap is becoming friendly with Fox Sharp, and even enjoys hunting with him. The wolves attack, and Moon finds Martha in time to inform her of the plan. But Snap is scared in the attack and believes her life is in danger, so she flees with the foxes. Martha thanks the wolves, who killed Fox Quick (Sharp's brother) and the coyote leader, and she takes Cub Spark home to raise her with the dogs. Blinded by fury with the foxes, Martha assumes Snap is a traitor that chose the foxes over her. (The two were seperated, and all Martha saw of Snap was her spending time with Fox Sharp.) The foxes settle into their temporary camp and Fox Sharp and Snap become closer friends. They always hunt together and Snap is sometimes left alone with him. Snap wants to be fully trusted to be on her own before she risks escaping, for fear of shattering the trust she had been working so hard to gain. Yet the more time she spends with the foxes, the more loyal she begins to feel. She learns that one of the coyotes, Tangle, lost a litter of cubs to starvation and begins to want to help the Pack. Fast forward a week and Snap and Sharp are on one of their hunting expeditions, and Martha sent Moon to scar Snap, marking her a traitor. Moon carries out the order but is so overtaken by guilt she can hardly get out of bed, and Snap is confused as to why Moon would want to hurt her. Fox Mother asks if the attack was from one of her old Pack, and Snap lies, wanting to prevent a war between the foxes and the dogs. Fox Sharp doesn't know what happened as he was knocked out for the attack. However, the truth is discovered. The foxes had believed that she was truly loyal, but she lied to them and they saw it as allegiance to her old Pack still. Fox Sharp is hurt most of all and begins to grow closer to Fox Mist in hopes of making her jealous. Before the attack, Fox Mother became pregnant with pups and planned on naming one of her pups Fox Snap, after Snap. But after all the chaos, the pups are born, and she still names one pup after Snap. Fox Mother tells Snap that if she wants to leave, she should do it at night so no one has to see. Snap decides that it's not worth it, for a Pack that believes she'd betray them after one night with the foxes, and joins their Pack. She is trusted to carry Fox Gem to their new camp.
On the move, Snarl, one of the coyotes, is becoming worse and worse to Tangle, his mate, and the foxes. Eventually he goes so far as to attack one of them, and he is banished. He seeks revenge. Not long after Tangle discovers that she's pregnant with his cubs. She's scared that he might return, but the Pack promises to keep her safe. Snarl does return to kill Fox Mother, and through all the stress Tangle gives birth prematurely. Originally I was gonna have her die, but we all were attached to the character by now and kept her around. Fox Mother breaks Snarl's leg in the fight, and after seeing his near-dead mate, premature cubs and crippled leg, he throws himself into the river. The next day, Martha, Bruno, Storm and Arrow come to take Snap back and make her Omega. Snap refuses, and before the fighting started, Moon stepped in and broke it up. She told Martha that her vengeance-filled quest was wrong and that she is leaving with Thorn and Beetle. Martha realizes what she had done, and how she'd been Blinded by love for Bruno and hatred for the foxes to realize how cruel she'd become. She returns to camp. Just before, Cub spark had been Named to Fortunate, for how lucky she felt when Martha saved her from the wolves.
Well, in the actual Wild Pack Snap visited and Martha had her pup, shortly after two new dogs, Mirasol (played by me) and Thunder (played by Storm) joined. Breeze decides that Thunder is a threat to her position and she begins to sabotage him, and her true colors are revealed when they hear about how she attacked Fortunate and torments Yuki (another new dog) on patrols. After being framed for stealing prey and being humiliated by Breeze Thunder eventually leaves and joins the Fox/Coyote/Dog Pack
Meanwhile in the fox Pack a new fox called Onyx joins (played by Storm) and grows a liking for Fox Keen. Also Snap has her pups (called Poppy, Bramble, Bright and Chestnut) and that's mostly it.
Yes, I've heard of this! I really want to buy one for him, I think I'm gonna start saving up for it. He's a really big rottweiler-mutt (he's adopted, so we don't really know) so finding him the right size may be difficult. I've actually heard that using ace bandages produces the same affects, but I've tried that and it hasn't seemed to work too well. I'm hoping the actual product works better.
Oh, really? I didn't know! I tried them on him a week ago but he seemed a little irritated that it was itchy, but I didn't know it could cause real damage. He's also pretty old, so I definitely won't be using them anymore! Thank you for the info, though!
Does it work well for your dog? A lot of the sites reccomending it also reccomend things like "distract them with toys" or "gives them treats to distract them." My dog literally won't eat anything when he gets scared, he just hides in the bathtub shaking, giving me the whale-eyes and panting. I'm really tempted to try it, but in cautious about spending 30$ on something that may not work.
I mean it works well for my dog, otherwise he starts wimpering and cowering in the corner, and we put on the shirt, and it calms him down. We also use it for loud thunderstorms. And my dog won't eat anything either, like I took him on a car ride to the pet store to pick up litter, and i bought him a treat, and he refused to eat it, which is weird because its his favorite. I've found that distracting them with food/toys doesn't work well, because my dog won't do anything with them. And yes the shirts are expensive, but it means i can get sleep without having to listen to my dog whimper all night.
Alright, I'll give it a try! He's the kind of dog that's comforted just by you placing your hand on his chest or something, so I think it could work. Thank you again, unfortunately where I live fireworks last for many days after the 4th (sometimes up until the 10th-11th!) So it probably will come in handy if it does work.
