Chapter Summary[]
Moon's Point of View[]
Moon has been healed, and she sits in the silent camp, reflecting on how lucky she was that the Sky-Dogs sent Fiery to her. He had brought rabbit, and the news that she is free of the disease. After Moon finished eating, Fiery told her that he must return to his pack, he's neglected his duties for too long. Moon is upset by this, but slightly mollified after he promises to return soon. Snap interrupts the conversation, reminding her that it's time Pebble went to the Earth-Dog. They bury her in a grave near Alpha, Star, Beta, and the other pack-members who have died.
A little while later, Fiery comes back with urgent news. Alpha has ordered them to move on from the territory, in fear that the invisible enemy will come attack them next. He begs Moon to come with him, but she refuses, unwilling to leave her pack. She asks Fiery to stay with him, but he is loyal to the half-wolf, and unable to leave. The two grief-stricken dogs part ways, Fiery promising to see her before they leave.
